An engagement session, Webster County style

Buck's mom, Stacy, contacted me about doing his engagement pictures a few weeks ago.  He and Kirsten will be getting married in Jamaica in December, but wanted to incorporate his parent's farm (where they hung out a lot growing up) in their engagement pictures.

I've known Stacy for 6 years (she was my oldest daughter's teacher) and knew we'd have a fun session, even if I hadn't met Buck and Kirsten yet.  I did a session for her a while back when her grandbaby came to visit and we had so much fun.

We started off taking pictures with his dad's classic truck, but quickly headed to the pasture, because I just couldn't resist the fact that there was Queen Anne's lace growing out there and it was just gorgeous with the golden hour light flowing through the trees to the west of us.

A few years back, I met Sarah, Hannah's younger sister, while taking her senior pictures.  She and her mom are just so sweet, so when Hannah contacted me about being her wedding photographer, I figured she would be a great bride to work with, and I was SO right!

I met up for a consultation with Hannah and her mom, Donna, and was amazed at their organization and planning.  Honestly, a note to future brides (and their moms), this will be a lot of work but is so worth it to make your big day go smoothly.  We chatted over Panera coffee and talked colors, order of ceremony, and a big part of the ceremony, family unity vows.  Aaron has a sweet daughter that he was bringing into the marriage, and they had planned out a way to include her in such a precious way.  We also got to talk about the reception, which would be held at Aaron's parent's farm in rural Greene County, and if you know me, you'll know how much I love the outdoors!  

Fast forward to June 21st, 2014.  It started with the ladies getting ready, and during that time, I met some of Hannah's closest friends and could instantly see how strong the bond of friendship was.  We even chatted about Doctor Who, which made me smile!

We were able to do some "sneak peeks" on Facebook, but the image quality really suffers, so I wanted them to have this blog to show off a few pictures from their wedding day.

Aaron's grandfather officiated the ceremony.  

Hannah's maternal grandparents are pictured here.  Her granddad wasn't able to make it, so they had a tribute to them in the reception hall.  I love that picture!

The pieces of fabric were brought to their wedding shower by friends and family and will be made into a quilt.  It was such a nice addition to their cake reception!

Aaron and Hannah love to go trout fishing, so the groom's cake was a huge trout!  It made me think of Steel Magnolias.

This swing is out in the woods on the Spratt's property where Aaron grew up.  I was so glad we got to incorporate it in some of their "formal" shots.

It was SO hot outside, but they stuck it out to get some great shots.  I asked him to whisper in her ear and tell her his favorite thing about her. This was her reaction...so sweet.

There are many more images from the day, but hopefully you had a chance to see how beautiful their wedding day was.  What you didn't see was the huge amount of family they had there to support them and so many friends there to wish them well.
