Only one will win the Pendant Games, and here are the results!

Well, Centurylink is being a pain, so I can't load any picture but I wanted to let you know who the winner of the Pendant Games is.  After a drawing of all the names (even those in multiple times for their effort of spreading the word for me), the winner is from a blog comment.  Please contact me at jphillips@Hisfingerprintphotography for details on how to get your custom portrait pendant started!  Congratulations to our winner and to those who didn't win, please keep an eye out for contests and special pricing as Christmas inches ever so close.  Thanks for all of your kind words, and know that each piece of jewelry I make is as much of a joy for me to create as it is for you to wear.

imgonnamissthesedays is our winner!

Meet Elizabeth, MHS class of 2013.  She's a dancer and has been at it since before she started kindergarten.  She's got a vibrant personality and such a sweet soul.  As with all of my seniors, I try to find out what look they want to achieve to commemorate their final year in high school. She of course, wanted to capture the impact that ballet had on her life, so we headed to downtown Springfield, but not before we explored her property and got some fun shots with her cat and her dad's car!

This image says so much...it's taken on the driveway of her childhood home, heading out into the world.  The suitcase holds all of her hopes and dreams, and that smile says that she is ready for anything!

There are more images from this session that I may share later, but I picked some of my favorites to share with you.  And since she chose my senior package, she'll have two more mini-sessions throughout her senior year that I'll get to share!

13 going on 30 (where has the time gone?)

When I moved to Missouri in 1995, I was majoring in youth ministries in college.  My amazing pastor knew that I had a heart for kids and asked me if I'd like to help out as a "counselor" in the middle school department.  Oh the adventures we had!  One of my first small groups had a girl named Bethany that was just completely in love with Christ and was telling all of her friends.  She brought her friend, Jessica to church  and both were in my group.  Time went on and they advanced into the high school department.  Jessica invited Paije to church, and Paije also became an active member of our youth group.  Fast-forward from 13 to 30, and that's where we are now!

Paije was in town for her sister's bridal shower, so since she and Jessica have their 30th birthdays next week, they decided to do a best friend's shoot!  We started off at a park close to where Paije grew up and played at a lot, then went to their high school and finished off in downtown Springfield.  It was so great to catch up with both of them and see where life has taken them.  It's so hard for me to see them all grown up, because I still picture them as teenagers.  Life has a way of doing that though *wink*   So, without further delay, I give you, 13 going on 30!

The Pendant Games...

So here it is, a week before my daughter's 8th birthday and I'm feeling the need to give someone a gift.  Who?  Maybe you!  I'm at 316 "fans" on my Facebook page right now, and once I hit 317 (the chapter and verse of one of my favorite scriptures Zephaniah 3:17) I'll open a contest that will run until Friday.  You'll get one entry for leaving a comment on this blog post, one for "liking" the status that I'll post when the page hits 317, and one for each friend that likes my page and leaves a comment stating that you sent them to my page.   The "chosen" will receive a custom portrait pendant!  If the vertical layout doesn't work for the image you have in mind, I can use a smaller horizontal pendant blank that's the same style.  It will come with a multi-strand organza ribbon necklace.

Please note, this contest is not sponsored or endorsed by Facebook in any way, and the winner will be announced here on the blog on 8.24.12.  I'll post a link to this blog on my Facebook page, but I can't technically announce the winner there as per Facebook guidelines.

Well, here you go!  Happy pendant games, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

The W. family session...

I had the joy of hanging out with the W. family last Sunday evening.  We had a cool breeze blowing and beautiful light, and 4 smiling faces, so what else do you need for a perfect family portrait session?  Dad is a 5th grade teacher and mom works at the high school.  They're just a great family to be around, full of encouragement and excitement that shines out like a lighthouse on a stormy sea.  I'm still working on their session, but wanted to get one up on the blog.

I'm going to try and post more on the blog than I do Facebook, because of the way the images just really get distorted and, as my 14 year old self would have said, grody to the max.  Seriously, it takes a beautiful image and compresses it so much that I feel like it was taken with my phone instead of my Canon.

We all need a little more mama time sometimes.  He was hugging on her and you could seriously just feel how much he loves her.

Someone is a daddy's girl...
I love how J.'s personality shines through.

JUMP!

Well, I need to finish up more of their session, but I wanted to get a couple of pictures up for them to preview.  Happy weekend eve everyone!
